Milking Time

Every morning and evening, I go out and milk the cow.  It’s a great time to be outside (most of the time), and very peaceful.  Most of the time, I get to be by myself out there!  Right now, I’m milking along the roadside, because we have her grazing there. Here are a few little glimpses of milking time.

I get to enjoy these roses along the house as I walk out to milk.

Here she comes! My obedient cow comes when I call her.

I often get to see this duck and her 12 ducklings when I'm out to milk.

I get to watch these sheep and lambs across the road.

I can see these hills just past Cheviot from where I milk; the one with the road up it is the Camel's Hump.

Ready to milk.

Ready to milk.

This beggar practically always joins me, rubbing around and asking for attention, waiting for his milk.

These two came out to see me, too.

And the news of the week?  We have to move.  Our landlord’s son wants this house, so within 2-3 months we have to find somewhere else to live.

Dear Emma, Greetings in Jesus’ precious name. I just read that you will be moving. I’m so sorry for you to have to move since you have been settled in for so long now there. I know that everything is in God’s hands though. He has a plan for you. I will be praying for you. Please pray for us too. Thank-you. I am so desperate for a church close to us. We no longer go to the Mennonite church that was 1 1/2 hrs. away. They sold their building and moved another 1/2 hr. east from us. If we have to drive 2 hrs. we’d rather go to Redeeming Love.—Brianne and I met Brother Joe and Sister Mary’s daughter and son-in-law a few weeks back at a garage sale. They go to a community church in the next town over. That would be so nice, but… Brianne is busy with EMT school in Grand Rapids and other things.—Hans is mostly busy with ice hockey….but piano and Bible quizzing and of course school too. Jon’s back has been out a few times this last week. We won’t be able to go to church because of it tomorrow. Well, I’ll close for now.—Love, BL

Thank you for praying for us! We very much appreciate your prayers through these past several years. We’ll pray for you, too. An hour to church is long enough…I can’t imagine two hours every week. God bless you!
